How the noble mountain stone becomes a ski, and how the ski finds its way back to the mountain. The making of zai marble - a world premiere in four acts.
The primal material of the mountain meets design and craftsmanship. A precise high-pressure sandblast cuts the individual stone surfaces into shape. The 0.5 to 1.8 mm thick marble slab is then brought together in the specially developed press to form the exclusive ski. Like all zai models, the new zai marble results from state-of-the-art sandwich technology with materials made of ash, poplar wood, steel, carbon, and titanal. With a new development: the zai marble is the only ski with a top belt made entirely of marble. In contrast to earlier processes, the base material can be ground away without leaving any residue leaving only the natural stone behind.
Ski enthusiasts love the element of damping. The resulting reduction of vibration leads to an experience of absolute connection with the snow – even at high speed. The ski impresses with incomparable smoothness and grip and convinces its proven racing ski base. It's not just the unique feel, and meticulous manufacturing that makes the zai marble a one-of-a-kind – the surface is individual to each ski. For zai, the aesthetic is a tribute to the glistening slopes of a perfect ski day contrasted with the rugged high alpine rock faces.
zai skis embrace piste, powder, and all-mountain ability. Together theyembody the purest expression of the zai philosophy: quality, innovation, andperformance.
